I am 6 days out from my final show for this spring, the Empire Classic in Spokane, WA.
To be honest with you I am feeling an extreme sense of impatience to get through this final week. I have begun my final week of carb cycling today and am back to carrying my bff,, Mr. Water Jug around with me everywhere I go.
I have never experienced an emotional roller coaster like this one before. Every other day I am in a different mood. One day I am so confident in my strengths and other days my confidence is taken over by self-doubt. Constant self motivation has been a must to get me through the times I feel down. I have to be honest though, being your own cheerleader is tough sometimes. Sometimes it is easier to give in and surrender to self doubt instead of taking the high road and pushing through.
One word that continues to pop up when I encourage myself to continue is "perseverance." I would have gotten no where without it. It is not easy to excel in something. It takes a whole lot of patience and perseverance to keep your eye set on your goal that you have made.
Perseverance : continuing in a course of action without regard to discouragement, opposition, or previous failure
So, I continue to persevere and train hard and eat clean to reach my goal.. I encourage you to set a goal and go for it. You too will experience hard times but the hard times will only make the good times that much sweeter. Just like in the movie Vanilla Sky, "Life ain't sweet without the sour." So embrace both the sweet and the sour and know that you can do it with a little perseverance and self-motivation from your inner cheerleader.
XOXO,
Abby
