Hi, I am Abby and welcome to The Bikini Competitor. The purpose of this site is to give you information on proper training and nutrition based on my professional and first hand experience. This website is a resource for women aspiring to compete in a bikini competition and for women who are simply looking to improve their confidence, curves, and reach their fullest potential.
The Bikini Competitor's mission is to empower women to embrace their natural beauty and strength.
My quest for confidence and self-love started many years ago when I realized how out of touch I had become with my own potential as a beautiful, fit woman. Before this realization, I loved eating Kraft mac & cheese and hot dogs for dinner.I never had a weight issue growing up; actually I didn't even pay attention to how much I weighed or what I ate. So as I got older and continued my poor habits I began to see weight gain. One day after getting out of the shower I looked down at my stomach and realized that I was fat...it broke my heart and I wondered, "How could I have let this happen?" It was then that I had an epiphany and realized that I needed to make a big change.
Despite my resolve and best efforts attaining the body and self confidence I craved was not an easy path. I started working out at a local gym and slowly improved my eating habits. I fell in love with fitness and decided to become a certified personal trainer. I enjoyed helping others but I still had a lot of self-improvement with my own body and confidence. My progress was very incremental as I bounced from diet to diet and from one cardio machine to next.
Then I started lifting weights, got educated in proper nutrition, and registered for my first Bikini competition. And I have NEVER looked back since.
Training is a way of life for me now. In the end it isn't about the competitions, it's about the quest. I have learned so much about myself; both my strengths and weaknesses. I now understand what true grit, discipline, and educated direction can do for someone. The quality of my life reflects the quality of my training and nutrition. When I take care of my body everything else falls into place; self-confidence, relationships, work, and adventure.
